Do You Listen to Music During Surgery?

Of course! Most surgeons we work with are big music fans. If it doesn’t interfere with the patient’s safety and the surgeon wants to listen to music, we dial it in.

Some surgeons like to hear classical music while they work, others have been known to listen to sermons, and others prefer to work without music. Some want the music a little louder and some want it quieter.

When I was in medical school, I listened to music while I studied. This helped me concentrate. My surgical friends did the same as well. So if it helps them concentrate and focus in the operating room, we are all for it. I know the patients feel the same way.
